Gym Mat

rubber gym mats
Rubber gym mats are a great way to add style and comfort to a gym area. They also have very useful purposes as providing safety and comfort to an exercise area. They also protect the floor and the users of the gym as well as they protect the equipment from themselves by keeping them in place regardless of the vibrations that they exude. There are different types of mats used in gyms, they are;
- Weight lifting mats – these are said to be indestructible and have textured surfaces. They are non porous, bacteria resistant and come in thicknesses ranging from 3/8 to ¾ inches.
- Exercise machine mats – these help to eliminate the drag on the floor by the machines motion and acts as a cushion also so as not to damage the machine or the floor.
- Interlocking mats for general exercise areas – these are ideal for use in areas that are not of the regular rectangular or square shape. They can be easily moved from one place to another and as such are ideal for use in a space that is being used for exercise only because the regular space is out of service. They come in 3/8 to ¾ inch thicknesses.
- Anti fatigue mats for general exercise areas – these mats help the legs and backs of person's exercising by acting as a cushion so they do not put too much pressure on their spines.
You can also purchase rubber rolls which can be cut to size and shape and makes it easier to carpet your entire gym in the correct type of mat. It goes without saying that rubber gym mats are and should be a critical part of any gym whether commercial or home gym. Remember that the type of rubber gym mat you require depends on the type of workout that you have to do on it. For home gyms you will probably opt for a general gym mat as you will be limited on space and will not be able to get the specific mats needed for each exercise area.

What is the best activity gym or mat for babies over 4 mos.?
I bought one and my son loved it because he could rip the arch that was over the mat. I have figured out that a comforter and all his toys laid on the floor in our living room is the best option for him. But baby einstein has one that I heard was pretty good, but just remember that the toys hanging above is usually attached by velcro, which if your babies are strong for their age they will eventually figure it out. I also bought a playskool plastic play arch that is plastic and he figured out how to take the plastic toys off the hooks that attach. But good luck and i hope you find one that you like.
