Most people think that those cargo pants that you can buy at your normal clothing store are the real thing. Fact is that those are mere replicas of the real heavy duty cargo pants that are used by professionals in law enforcement, the military and other places where you need to have pants that have both enough pockets and the durability to withstand rough environments.

These types of pants were first used in the Vietnam war where the soldiers needed to have extra pockets to carry tools and other equipment. These pants are made out of durable cotton, and today there are synthetic materials that are included to improve the durability. The pockets that are on the side of the thighs and on the back are completely external, so that carrying a large amount of equipment will not make it difficult to move.

People working at constructions are using them as well as a tool belt. The reason for this is that the big pockets allow you to carry any shaped items, and not just the ones that have a specifically designed pocket in the tool belt. This allows them to carry screws, nails and other related items with them.

The durability of tactical cargo pants play a major role, as they are made for professionals that have to rely on their pants, even if they wear them in rough surroundings every day of the year. The navy seals can not worry about their pants while they are crouching in the forest, but instead they have to be sure that all their equipment stays with them.

Good tactical cargo pants are made out of good materials and have been shaped in a manner that allows the wearer to function normally, even with their pockets full.

What is the best sewing machine for heavy duty sewing?

I am hoping to get recommendations on a good sewing machine for heavy duty sewing. Something in between a home machine and an industrial as I am not ready to commit to a huge industrial machine but I sew much more then what a standard home machine can handle. For example heavy fabrics such as canvas, upholstery weight, or denim and I sew for 5plus hours per day.

Great machines for this is to find an old Singer (black ones) from 1940's and 50's. One of the best if not the best is a Singer 201. Along with this one is a Singer 15-91. These are heavy household machines that have a built in motor (no belt drive). All gear to gear drive and you cannot hurt them. Almost any machine with the proper TNT (Thread, Needle and Tension) can sew heavy materials just not for very long. These two types can sew heavy all day, every day.
I always buy these when I see them. Service them (restore) and resell them. Feel free to email me if you want to buy one. About a hundred dollars. I'll ad links so you can look at some.
