The 'secret' is to do power training. What is power training?
When talking about muscles, power is the ability to do work quickly. That is to push or pull a weight quickly. (Actually, accelerate it). It requires a combination of speed and strength (and coordination).
Power resistance training is usually done by accelerating (or moving rapidly) a weight in a controlled manner during the main exertion phase (concentric phase). For example, pulling against a thick rubber band, or pushing a weight above your head. Then returning the weight to the starting point (eccentric phase) more slowly (2 to 3 seconds).
In traditional resistance training the push or pull is done more slowly (say 2 to 3 seconds) and the weight or resistance is returned to the starting position again in about 2 to 3 seconds.
Want proof that power training works?
A group of men in their 60s to 70s did power resistance training for 10 weeks (training twice a week) using gym machines. The men increased their strength by 25 to 30%, their power by 30 to 35%, and their muscle thickness by 10 to 15%.
A similar group of men doing traditional resistance training had the same strength gains, but had only a third of the power gains and half of the muscle development.
A big difference for doing the same amount of training!
So- why not check with your doctor that it is OK for you to start exercising. Then check into a gym and get started on power training. You will be amazed how much better you will feel in a short time.
Oh- and you shouldn't wait until you are in your 60s to start. The sooner the better

can you get power armor training after killing some of the brotherhood in Fallout 3?
i was wondering if i could still get training after killing those guys outside of the galaxy news radio building/place. and if i can, where do i go?
You go to the Citadel... You dont need power armor at first but if you follow the main storyline you will get power armor before the last mission, the one where you follow the big robot around. I wouldnt worry about getting power armour so soon and i think u need to follow the main storyline more to be able to get it.
