Combat Canada Canadian Martial Arts Online Magazine Review
The Combat Canada Canadian Martial Arts Magazine seems to cover Taekwondo in Canada. You can visit this website and read lots of articles relating to Canadian Taekwondo. The latest event they covered was the 2009 Junior Pan Am Championship. In Nov 2009, Taekwondo players in america and Canada left to El Salvador for this event which occurs twice per year. The Canadian team did outstanding and came home with the Best Male Athlete and the Best Referee awards.
Also when visiting this site, I happened to notice they had their own Taekwondo video page where you can check out over a dozen of tournament style videos as well as videos of professional Taekwondo trainers. Okay this website has some humor thrown in it as well. There was an article posted about a man who trains monkeys in Taekwondo. He wasn't paying attention and the monkey slipped him a roundhouse. This was more entertaining than a Bruce Lee film.
I was pleased to see that the Combat Canada Canadian Martial Arts Online Magazine also covers major events like the 2009 World Taekwondo Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. There's a nice little video about this on their website. However Maxime Potvin took the silver medal. Yvette Yong and Sébastien Michaud took the bronze metals. Korea ended placing first overall with 9 total metals and 5 gold metals which was right above spain.
And after further research on their website I learned that Canada won 3 medals at this event, which were the 3 people I named above. They also have a video linking to the World Taekwondo Foundation promoting it as an Olympic Sport. This is a very powerful martial art because it specializes in the art of kicking and kicking in close combat.
